Mixed bag with this one. Wasn't that entirely invested in this plot, although I did like how this one is pretty much a sequel to 'Salem's Lot with many of the characters that are reintroduced here. Roland and Eddie are still great, but Susannah kinda took a dip for me. I still like her, but this wasn't her full potential in my taste. Callahan does get a massive and interesting role here and as always, it's nice to see further connections.

It took me roughly 5 months to finish this, which is a record in slowness. The story is good, but it might be the most exhaustively written book I've ever read. I also think I had too high of expectations based on how it seems to be several people's favorite book in the series. It's 900 pages and could've easily been fit into 500 or less. Lastly, I have very mixed feelings about the epilogue, but they're all incredibly spoiler-y. If you've read it, we can talk about it.

Overall, a good read, but it felt too long and meandering to be a great addition to the series. Basically the whole thing was a side quest, and one that you kind of knew how it would turn out from the beginning. Little snippets here and there added some intrigue to the overall plot, but really didn't play a huge part. Also...that ending...
