So....I love Caleb. Yeah. He's adorable. All his insecurities. The way he flirts. The way he plays with Ellen's baby, Henry. His macho protective streak.

Ellen is awesome too. So fiercely independent. Smart. Sharp. Quick-witted.

The pair of them together may cause your book to self-combust.

My one massive issue with this book though was the storyline between Jamie and Carly. I honestly thought I'd missed an entire book between [b:How to Misbehave|17162570|How to Misbehave (Camelot, #1)|Ruthie Knox|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1357019989s/17162570.jpg|22005525] and Along Came Trouble. I hate when I feel like I've missed things, it seriously takes away from my enjoyment of a book. The entire past relationship that is alluded to reads like a summary of events we should already know.

I'm definitely enjoying Knox's Camelot series and am eagerly awaiting the next release!

The writing was good and the characters were winning, but it felt a little too over-the-top at times - among other things, the amount of tabloid attention devoted to an ordinary, unexciting, ex-girlfriend of a rock star who was pregnant (not by said rock star) felt like it was a little ridiculous; I totally believe they're going after Jennifer Lawrence like that, but maybe not e.g. that lady that Matt Damon married before he married her. Also, Ellen and Caleb moved way too fast and committed way too fast. I liked the slow beginning and all that, and then suddenly boom! she's in love with the guy. I didn't buy it. So, overall, okay but not particularly thrilling.

I liked this book alot, but I wanted to love it. I did love parts of it and OMG Caleb was so hot and just had me a mess, but I had a really hard time connecting to Ellen. Maybe that was were it fell flat for me. I of course wanted them together and happy but I just needed more effort I think from her character.

I liked the side story of Jaime and Carly it added to book for me. There was so much about this story that did have me captivated and I totally recommend checking this out.

Ruthie Knox never disappoints with a love story or a hot man.

I almost abandoned it at 30%. But I wanted to write about it fairly so I made myself finish the book. And it was possible only because I liked Ruthie Knox's writing.

Books with prickly TSTL main characters are never my idea of good reads. And Ellen is exactly that. The woman is so buried in her own selfishness and paranoid she couldn't tell head from toe nor does she truly care for her two-year-old's safety. I applaud every woman who wants to fix her own problems but you have to know your limits.

Caleb is your typical too-good-to-be-true romance hero. I adored him but I can't take him seriously. He isn't real to me. Their romance is based on nothing but physical attraction.

And poor Henry gets shoved out of the way too many times for mommy to have sex. I understand they need alone time but the kid is suspiciously missing most of the book. I resent that.

Another thing that baffled me is how the book is filled with women in various state of divorce after being used, robbed, and dumped by their scumbag ex- or soon-to-be ex-husbands. One is fine. Two is a co-incidence. Why do we need a trifecta? And to top it off, Superman Caleb has to rescue them all while they kick and scream independence the rest of the way.

It bothered me on so many levels.

I'm glad I finished it though because at around 70% I think I understand Ellen a little better. Just a teeny bit.

The book also includes a secondary romance between Ellen's popstar brother, Jamie, and her pregnant neighbor, Carly. It was okay and probably should get its own book, which I would not read.

Life isn’t all fun and games in Camelot. Especially not for divorced, single-mother Ellen Callahan, and especially not when her famous-pop-star brother’s girlfriend — who happens to be pregnant — lives right next door. And having Caleb Clark showing up on her doorstep? Prattling on and on about security arrangements? Sticking his nose into her routine? Totally. Not. Fun.

And why does he have to be so bloody hot, anyway? And patient? And nice? Can’t the guy just take a hint and go away?

Of course not, because if he did, we wouldn’t have this gem of a love story. Or should I say 1.5 love stories? Because even if theirs isn’t the focus of Along Came Trouble, Jamie and Carly’s story brings on the “awwww”-inducing warm-fuzzies, too. But let’s get back to Caleb and Ellen. I loved Caleb. Like, loved loved. He’s strong, smart, patient, kind — all wrapped up in a hunky outer layer that reflects his inner beauty. (Yes, I’m gushing. Get over it already.) And Ellen, who’s all prickly and wary, loves her brother and her son unreservedly, and doesn’t want a man around — she grows on you. Before too long you’ll want these two to have their happily-ever-after, never mind what hoops they have to go through to get there. And hoops there are, because hey, this is a romance novel after all — we can’t make it too easy for them, can we?

Ruthie Knox’s sense of humor shines throughout Along Came Trouble, as it did in Ride With Me and About Last Night. The love story is as mushy as in her other books and as steamy as well, and I love that Ruthie balances mushy + steamy + characters you care about and want more of, as well as she does. I cannot wait for the next Ruthie Knox book!

Could barely get past the first few chapters. pretty lame compared to her Ride with Me and About last Night. Same thing with Flirting with Disaster.
