I enjoyed this book I've been excited to read it for awhile it was a cute read i think the ending could've been better still enjoyable though this book is about the main character's Julian and Hallie i loved the fact that we got to meet August and Natalie in this book I can't wait to read there story in Unfortunately yours and there is secret love letters that Hallie writes Julian confessing to him her feelings that she's had for awhile some of the tropes in this book are Opposites attract, Small town romance, Grumpy x Sunshine and Second chance romance this book has a happy ending with no cliffhangers no love triangle and no cheating and also Hallie has her friend Owen who she likes only as a friend but Owen likes her more then a friend so there is jealousy between Julian and the side character Owen but nothing crazy it still had me giggling every time Julian got jealous i loved it this book is spicy not extremely spicy but
nonetheless spicy im not very good at reviews so I'll leave it at that👆🏽and overall i rated this book 4 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A romance book that felt very haphazardly put together. As if all of the pieces were plugged in that should together make a whole book, but nobody stood back at the end and said, ‘hmm maybe these pieces come from different puzzles.’
At the end of the day, Bailey writes excellent spice and fun characters, but I was very frustrated but the mental health representation (or lack thereof) in this book. Just read it so I can read book 2 which is supposed to be fantastic.

Oof y'all... buckle up. This one was a doozy. If this had been written by any other author, I probably would have DNF'd. But since it's TB (my favorite author), I forced myself to finish it. I don't want to rage-rant about this book because that's not in my nature, but I just want to point some things out that made this a rough read for me.
Hallie has to be the most immature FMC I've ever encountered. She gave me stalker vibes-- who continues to crush on a man from high school for FIFTEEN YEARS without him knowing you exist? That was c r e e p y to me. She also makes all her problems everyone else's problems and I *hate* when people do that. She's inconveniencing other people because she has time management issues and doesn't know how to process her grief healthily. Hallie and Julian had no chemistry whatsoever. And why is he so obsessed with her smile and KNEES?!? Istg her knees and/or smile was mentioned every five pages (probably even more frequently). The storyline was somewhat entertaining, but what was that ending??? It felt rushed and last-minute added.
TBH, the only things going for this book (imo of course) was the smut (which actually sometimes made me cringe???) and Julian's sister Natalie. She was genuinely the only character I liked (so I'm looking forward to Unfortunately, Yours). I just found myself wanting the book to end and did not enjoy having to pick it up-- it felt like a chore.

This book wasn't as bad as a 2.5, but doesn't deserve 3 either. So I split it down the middle. Definitely my most disappointing read of the year, which breaks my heart because it was written by my fav author.

Tessa Bailey romances never rock my socks off but this one felt particularly lackluster. The characters were so flat and clichéd.

This book just wasn’t it for me. Tessa Bailey books have been a hit or a miss for me in the past and I can acknowledge her writing is always excellent but sometimes the storyline or characters just don’t work. This was one of those cases. I felt a real lack of connection between the characters and things felt forced but also really disjointed. I love that there is anxiety representation with Julian, but it really felt like a crutch for his personality. He’s also a super straight-laced and scheduled professor and then completely loses that side around Hallie? It just felt like two different men that were supposed to be the same. His inner thoughts also boarded on creepy, obsessive, and kinda objectifying. Hallie was just flighty and really needed to get her shit together. Her mess is basically her entire personality throughout the book. I don’t see how these two characters fit together and then thrown in the virgin part and this book felt like a cop out rather that really trying to write a good story. This might be good for some readers but it just had too many things that didn’t make this a worthwhile read. 2⭐️, 3.5🌶

Meh. I think it's official that I don't love Tessa Bailey, and this plus It Happaned One Summer has proved that (lowkey surprised I gave it 4 stars looking back, because I don't remember loving much). She and her seriously copious amounts of steam are just not for me, and that's okay. I've got plenty of other romances to read…
