Building and maintaining social infrastructure is key to a successful society. Yes!
I found the early chapters to do well at making this point and would have rated this higher if the book had ended sooner. I recommend reading this book but you might not feel the need to finish it to understand the major takeaways.

Very informative and well researched book. Discusses the importance of libraries, parks, cafes, urban gardens, and places of communal gathering (even as small  as the hallway where parents wait to pick up their children from school) as places where people can interact and get to know others they may not usually interact with.

This book gives me hope for our future

In my hometown, I didn’t have access to the wonderful libraries and book shops I can now visit, sometimes together with my children... ok, mostly I take my children, and it amazes me how much anyone can profit from them.

I have seen and heard interviews with the author, that got me interested in the book.
