A solid graphic novel fantasy with some parallels to current events. Lots of action and very fast paced. Maybe a little too fast paced for my adult brain. I would have loved a little more introspection, but I think kids might really get a lot out of this.

Great story with a lot of heart and courage and great characters. A well-done exploration of imperialist propaganda, twisting narratives to serve a "higher" purpose, friendship, staying true to yourself and your beliefs (both in a positive and negative way). The final conflict happened a bit too quickly and cleanly in my opinion, does not detract from the overall message whatsoever though.

This graphic novel is visually stunning, and the commentary on colonialism is quite nuanced because of the range of character perspectives we get to know. The ending was very satisfying.
