2nd time reading. I wanted to read this again, this time in audiobook format. And I really enjoyed it! Maybe more than the first time.

I feel like I’ve been reading this book for so damn long. The book itself was unnecessarily long. But I did enjoy these characters. And the story is good too. It’s not great, but I do want to follow along their journey, so am begrudgingly continuing the series.

This was my first book of Devon McCormack and maybe it was the last one.

I don't give five stars easily, five is reserved for those extra amazing books, and for me this is one of those books. I needed a few chapters to get in the mood of the book, the alternating POV can be confusing at the beginning when you don't know the character voices yet, but then ,when you get the rhythm, it's one of those books you can't stop reading, both characters are captivating, their story is believable, I liked that it's real, I liked their approach to the "Ty" issue, I like the smooth way they navigate they're relationship the doubts and the problems. And then you look at the end of the page and see that you only have 10 pages left, and a major plot issue just appeared, the reader is not stupid so there are two options, either the author is going to end the book very quickly and badly, or the story doesn't end in this book, but that is not possible because you read the synopsis and you went to Goodreads and in no place we are informed that this is a series. I read this book for two reasons: I liked the blurb and it was a stand alone. I didn't wanted a series right now, I have that right, so I feel very deceived by the author, he didn't need this, the book is good enough for him to be honest with his readers, it's a shame.

This way I think I might get my own closure to Eric and Jesse's story and move on.

I love this series Best Friends Father is one of my favourite tropes.
This series is wonderfully written and I love how all three books are about the same characters which makes a nice change from each book being a different character.
The characters are likeable and well written.
The writing style is easy to follow and flows well.
Certainly a series I will continue to reread
Over all a really well put together series and deffo deserved 5*

Way more complex than I imagined it would be. I’m excited to see where this story goes!

Why did I wait so long to read this?

Wow, I’m absolutely blown away by the complexity of this story. Broken souls drawn to one another for reasons they can’t decipher. I was hooked from chapter one and had a hard time putting it down to tent to life.

I’m off to dive into book 2!

Full disclosure, I was expecting this to be three separate stories...surprise, it's not. My bad. Totally a three part series and I don't read too many of these but I can't leave on a cliffhanger. I prefer shorter books. The story was good and I enjoyed the characters.

3.5 The start was so good. Bit more of a frat boy vibe than I was expecting but really sexy and cliche in all the best ways. Jessie meets his best friend's hot dad as he's coming out of the shower naked. An unexpected event forces the best friend to leave early leaving Jessie alone in a house with said hot dad. The sexual tension was so delicious. But I'm deducting major points because they threw a crazy amount of drama in the last few chapters then ended on a cliffhanger. So I'm kind of frustrated and annoyed right now! I don't think I'm going to continue with the series. The mismatch end to the otherwise fun and flirty book leaves a sour taste in my mouth. And the cliffhanger doesn't leave me in a state of suspense but rather annoyance, as if my hand is being brutally forced when the stakes aren't even that serious, you know? So I'm folding.
