It's a quick read with a powerful ending that leaves you staring at the wall to process. I think this would be a great book to study in class as it makes some very smart writing choices that help bolster the overall theme. You could definitely reread this multiple times and find something new to annotate.

I didn't prefer the author's writing style, however. It is extremely detailed and slow moving.
Additionally, I did not like the audiobook narrator.

The books first starts with an Israeli soldier POV. The 2nd half is of a Palestinian woman POV. She read the article of what happens to the woman who was raped and she goes to see the more evidence. Her POV shows the reader how difficult it is for Palestinians to travel in their own land because of the occupation.aalfie's review against another edition

Poignancy was the main feeling I had reading this book. It's easy to sympathize and empathize with the women in both parts of the story, as they face oppression and outright brutality at the hands of Israel's occupying forces.
I'm glad I finally got to read this after having been on a waitlist through my library since November.
