I think I read this at the wrong time. I don't mind a book with a message, I suppose I just wasn't in the mood for one when I picked this up. It's another book with social commentary with elements of horror. Mostly gore. There are a few plots going on that, in my opinion, do not seamlessly go together. And then saw in the Acknowledgements the book took from three previously published short stories. So then a lot of things started to make sense why elements were not meshing well. Disappointed more wasn't said about the ghosts she was seeing. One plot was dropped completely; although it was small I was still actually very interested in it.
3 stars, didn't love it, didn't hate it.

I love all the details the author puts into this book. Really makes it seems like you are right there with the characters. Great book!

The ending itself was a tad disappointing but the first 285 pages of the book make up for the lack of depth in the ending. I throughly enjoyed the parts where I felt disoriented alongside Erin; often having to reread a page in order to understand that I just simply won’t understand what was happening. I find that quite enjoyable. The writing is wonderful, and the pace of the book, if any slower would have made it a hard read but alas, it’s perfect the way it is.
