This was painful to get through. Hated all the characters and could not deal with the mains whining. The story was strange and the ending fell flat. She didn’t learn anything.
The vomiting was just a little too gross for me at this time lol
Spooky and frequently stomach churning. Understandably that it's not everyone's taste, but I love when a book can gross me out lol. Very unique concept of Ghost as a drug, one that "gets you haunted". Disturbing in all the right ways!

ghost eaters, at the surface, is a ghost story, and a hauntingly descriptive one at that. the way that the author writes is so vivid and descriptive there were times i squirmed out of discomfort. however, if you’re looking for a book about haunted houses and the paranormal this wouldn’t be the book i’d recommend. chapman wrote erin’s story through the lens of a ghost story, yes, but really it is the tale of addiction and grief and how much that can weigh you down and drive about its own form of madness, or “hauntings.” the first person perspective really aids the storytelling here as well, with the reader unsure of whether what erin is seeing is real or just another side effect of ghost just as much as she is. this is the first book i’ve read by chapman, and the utter beauty of his prose - no matter how grotesque - has me intrigued to read more.
