cool concept that i’m sure is life changing for some people but “just keep trying!!” seems a bit hollow. would have loved to hear more stories about gritty (black) women maybe it would’ve resonated more

A lot of food for thought, and Angela Duckworth seems more aware of the lack of nuance her research can have which is more than I can say for other authors who write books about their own research. I won't lie I started zoning out towards the end so I'll probably reread it again when I feel more mentally up to it.

Loved all the statistics. So much to noodle on very well researched. I loved it as much as Malcolm Gladwell's books. It's a keeper of a book that I will revisit & share.

After scoring less than expected on Angela's Grit Test, this book opened up a whole new avenue of personal improvement for me. I read a chapter each day until completion and I can say that during each of those days it made a positive impact in my decision making, work ethic and overall attitude to work. After feeling 'stuck' for a few months, Grit has brought me back to the work that I should be doing. It also helps that Angela writes in a conversation, easy to understand manner.

3.5 stars. Good content, but could have been condensed for just as much impact in half the length.
