A 17 year old and a 31 year olds love story?? This entire book made me nothing but uncomfortable.
Creepy vibes, no 31 year old should be falling in love with a god damn teenager. I got the "you're so mature for your age" vibes, and that is nothing but

“Wildflowers are strong. Resilient. They can grow under most conditions. I want to be like that.” I let my hair down, his eyes watching my movements. “I want to have the confidence of wildflowers—to never give up, to flourish, and thrive.”
People really be hatin on this book….idk….I loved it….sue me

This book totally rocked me. This is my favorite book from this author and I am DESPERATE to read the conclusion.
Without giving anything away, this book (and the next one I hope) will actually make a hated trope of mine enjoyable for once!
18 year old Salem likes her small town life. She is content making her candles and working in her mom’s antique store. She likes her life. But when the new neighbor, a grumpy and quiet single dad named Thayer moves in, her simple existence is shaken up.
She begins to nanny his son and grows closer to both of them, forming a strong bond. But falling for this 31 year old man wasn’t really part of her plan, though she is unable to stop this from happening.
Salem was sweet and caring, dealing her past and trying to live in the present… and Thayer was amazing. He was protective and loving. And his relationship with his son was the sweetest. Thayer’a son totally steals the show though. I love that he was written realistically and his dialogue didn’t sound exaggerated at all.
This book is beautiful and painful. This was just perfection. The depths that Micalea Smeltzer goes and the emotions she pulls from you is brutal. I highly, HIGHLY recommend this book!

Wrecked. This book wrecked me.
Still in shock and will have to do a better review once I recover.
10/10 recommend.
One of the best books I’ve read this year. Starting book 2 immediately.

This book was not good by any traditional metrics but omg I couldn’t put it down. Have to read the second book right now.
Took me almost a month but I did it. I loved this book. It was so good. The age difference kind of grossed me out at first but its fine. The end BROKE me, I’m literally so so sad. I loved how sweet they were and their relationship was so fiery and refreshing. I loved that he was there for her always and never had to be asked, he always just was. I love baby Forrest too :( he’s the best kid every, so sweet. I’m super excited to see how the twist plays out in the next book!
