Kelley Armstrong has a rare talent of portraying characters in a way you may dislike them, and then turning them into everything you wish you were yourself. This kind of fantasy is my favourite; Armstrong creates a perfect balance of the romantic, thrilling and anticipating emotions within you to keep you hooked for the whole series.

The whole "no female werewolves" trope is tired AF, and their excuse for it was really gross. The love interests were boring, the sex was rapey. Put me off the werewolf genre completely for many years. Don't know why it was so highly recommended.

I'll be blunt, in this series female werewolves all get raped to death. It's fucking gross. The MC is a rare surviving female werewolf and she's written as extremely weak and submissive to all the males. It's extremely misogynistic. Why do the men all get to be superpowered beasts, and not the women?? Just make the women strong too, ffs. At least SOME of them.

This is my favorite werewolf story! Werewolves are not my favorite supernatural creature (I'm more of a vampire and magic users' girl) but I still loved this story. Elena is a really tough, smart heroine! She has a complicated and interesting past and is working through some real trauma to do with her transformation and her ex-boyfriend. The romance in the book is steamy as hell! Elena has some real Buffy vibes to her, and if you like Buffy you'll probably enjoy this series.

Sometimes I forget how much I truly enjoy urban fantasy

Bash left Olivia to enter a fight. He needs to money to save his family from the mob. Fighting is in his blood and he needs to protect what’s his. What he doesn’t expect to find is Olivia and Matty is the crowd cheering him on. He doesn’t expect Olivia to stay with him and to understand him. Everything seems to be looking up, but then Bash lies to Olivia and she walks out. Now Bash has to figure out what he’s going to do because when Olivia comes back into his life by force he needs to decide if he’s going to protect her or keep her as his equal.

I honestly enjoyed this mini trilogy. Based on the first book I didn’t think I was going to. However, after the second book I knew there was no way I couldn’t not read the last book. Bash and Olivia’s story is hot and full of danger. The mob, psycho ex-boyfriends, losing everything they have and they find a way to get through it.

I truly enjoyed these stories but I honestly don’t think I’ll continue reading the McDaniel Brothers series. There just isn’t enough content and the stories are much too pricey to continue reading. So with that being said I did enjoy this mini trilogy and am glad I had to opportunity to read it.

Teaser:
"Everyone knows that anything a guy says to you when his dick is in you doesn't count."

Swoon:
"Cannoli, Twinkies, and Pabst Blue Ribbon on the roof. It might not be normal, but it was my first taste of our normal, and it was perfect."

Though I liked this book, I didn't feel this book was very distinct from others of it's genre, and there were many character deaths in which i found myself questioning how the character had been connected with the main character. That said, I did like how the love story played out in the end, though it might have been more seamless.

Cheesy fun. I couldn't put if down, it was a bit like reading a movie or a tv show. Fun.

I still want to know how she managed to get over Clay biting her? Why did Clay bite her to begin with if there was an almost certain possibility she was going to die? Do these questions get answered later because if not I don't want to read any more of this series.
