Incredible. Everyone deserves to read this.

The concepts covered are well explained, full of depth, yet concise. Blair Imani does a phenomenal job of educating the world. What a gift.

DID NOT FINISH

It felt like it was preaching to the choir! It was more of a beginners book

This is a great book to start with for anyone trying to be a better ally or educate themselves more on different areas. It has a few flaws, but that can be expected and fixed over time.

This is a great primer on a wide range of important social topics.

This book is short but thought provoking. Going into different marginalized areas of life be it race, class, LGBT, etc. many of these categories i hit on. Blair gives her own experience in the mix of facts of the matter that discrimination exists in the macro and micro of things. A good look into seeing marginalized identity in a new way.

This is a great resource and definitely worth reading. Wish I'd had it in my teens!

I thought it was great because of how accessible and brief each section is, but I found myself wanting more information and reflection questions at the end of the chapter for people to really think about how they engage with the queer community and people with disabilities. I think I wanted the book to go one step further than just allow people the opportunity to realise they have done something wrong.

Anyway this is truly a small qualm and it's a great read.

Great informative, concise way to learn about important topics. I definitely picked up on some new things! I follow Blair on Instagram and I enjoy her “Smarter in Seconds” videos. She presents information in an easy manner and everyone should read this book.

If ANY of the subjects covered by the precious Blair Imani are new to you, this is the book for you. This includes race, class, disability, and identity.
If you’re well-versed, you might find finding yourself wanting to skip ahead. Imani’s accessible, light touch is ideal for starting a journey towards understanding the ways we can avoid contributing to patriarchy, white supremacy and ableism.
If you don’t already follow this author on Instagram, get on it — her videos there are bite-sized accessible learning modules.
