I can hear Imani's voice in this book, clearly explaining topics. It takes a lot of skill to write that clearly and be so informational without being boring.

Me gustaron mucho los temas en este libro, y la perspectiva desde la que se los trata. Ciertamente es informativo e interesante, aunque siento que el tono de la autora hizo que se sintiera como un texto dirigido a adolescentes, o incluso niños. Esto no es algo malo, simplemente no me gustó tanto.

El inicio creo que fue lo más interesante, daban muchas ganas de seguir leyendo, pero a partir de la mitad se empezó q sentir más pesado, y no ayudaba que a cada rato repitiera la frase “to get smarter about…”. Entiendo que de ahí viene el título del libro, pero llegó un punto en el que me tenía harta.

I really enjoyed the teaching style and narration by Blair Imani. Generally I learned things and this did make me think. My only small note was that I was caught a little off guard by the leftist socialist arguments in the middle that for me personally I thought didn't necessarily demonstrate or fit with the overall aims of the book. However, otherwise a solid read though a little US centric.

This book was a very basic starter informational text about understanding the people in your lives with more compassion and clarity. It was very informative if not a little dry.

Clear, well written. Easy to consume and thoughtful. Great introduction to many topics and how to best discuss them if you're not sure where to start.

This book is a good start to figure out how to be a more inclusive person. It goes over a range of topics, but it felt a little “TikTok” to me - covers the topics, but only very cursory look at them. Still, some parts made me think a lot about them.
