I think if Corrie had written this herself I would have enjoyed it more. The religious overtone was annoying at a point. I understand of course that it is an important part of the story but there comes a point where it distracts from the facts.

This is the fourth time I’ve read this book, and it never fails to leave me touched to the point of tears. Corrie ten Boom was an absolutely amazing woman whose faith enabled her to love others in the worst of circumstances…living in the Ravensbruck concentration camp that stole the lives of so many, including her own sister. This book is a window into the horrors of WW2 and the courageous people who put their lives on the line to save the vulnerable. May we all have the faith of Corrie ten Boom. This book is an absolute treasure.

This book has some scenes that might be a bit much for younger readers and so is suitable for 12 years and up.

There simply aren't words for how moved I was by this book. Corrie ten Boom's testimony of God's faithfulness, presence, and protection is inspiring. She was a remarkable woman of faith.

Such a sad story to read, but with a great message: try to find and thank God in everything, and remember to put your own hardships in perspective with some of the true tragedies that have occurred in our history or that may be happening today in our world.
