Loved this book so much! Holly was super likable and I loved grumpy and mysterious Jonathan! The added puppies were just icing on the cake. Would definitely recommend!

This was CUUUUUUTE.

Now, do we really think that an environmental non-profit would support/fund a hot guys and dogs calendar for a fundraiser created by an intern for their final project because the backgrounds were…the environment? No, no I don’t.

But this has grumpy/sunshine vibes and a whole bunch of dogs, so I’m in regardless. 😂

This was a quick read and I breezed through it in two days. Rom-com and dog lovers should pick this one up.

Thank you @forever for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of this ARC in exchange for my honest rewiew.

This book was so sweet. The FMC's struggles with what she wants to do with her life hit home for me. I loved all the descriptions of the dogs getting photographed! The MMC is a cute misunderstood grump that just wants the best for our FMC and it was so cute.

A great audiobook—the narration was fantastic, and I am definitely adding Lauren Ezzo to my list of favourite narrators! Her single narration performance was brilliant, the balance with the voice of the MMC was really well done.

This book is at its best in quiet and intimate moments—the prose is absolutely gorgeous. I’ll be happily picking up anything else this author writes!

The only reason this wasn’t a 5 star came down to the conflict not quite hitting for me (the FMC is very single-minded and doesn’t really reckon with that), the stakes and beats felt unbalanced at times which would throw me out of the story. But having said that, the quality of the writing and immersion during scenes with romantic connection was so fantastic (I really can’t overstate how lovely) that overall I loved the book and would highly recommend it.

This was a delightful rom-com from an author that was new to me. It was a nice surprise to discover a new author that could make me get lost in a book for a couple of hours and desire to want to stretch these hours to keep bejng immersed in the story.

Holly was an intern at a non profit organization and was trying to be the best in order to get a job in a branch of the company in Glasgow. Holly was almost someone to look up to. She was determined and driven and when she had her mind set on something she worked and fought hard to get there. She always was prepared and had planed ahead of time to take all possibilities and managed to turn her life aroung after a major event and set up at her previous workplace.
As a last assignment she has to develop a project, a calendar and needs a media guy to help her.
Jonathan is a webdesigner working for the same nonprofit, and is the company ghost. He gets in and out, and barely talks or relates to his coworkers and is grumpy all the way.
They share a tiny secret, but they can put all that behind, right?
When Holly need to work with Jonathan they try to put their hookup behind and have a professional relationship. But as soon as they start spending time together and getting to know each other that is harder and harder. Holly starts to learn how to live and enjoy some happiness and Jonathan starts to realise that he can have good things in life even if it was not his first choice and plan.
But their relationship has a termination date, because if Holly wins, she will leave. How will they deal with that? Well... as expected not well and things get interesting and complicated and sometimes we want to shake Jonathan or Holly or both.
What would you choose? Your career or your love?

I loved both main characters. They were relatable, had strong personalities and had a real feel and through out the story were able to see the change and growth in them. I loved their interactions and small moments, their banter and their love. Both had such big hearts!
And also.. a book with dogs is always a plus!

I listened to the audiobook and the narrator was awsome and definitly an excelent choice for Holly. She made both the story and the characters more alive and could transmit all those feelings and make me laugh, laugh and cry with them. A very good choice!

I think this is my favorite book from Anna so far!

I really enjoyed this, especially at the beginning. Holly is an intern that is participating in a competition to earn a position in Scotland. She has made big changes in her life and wants this to be the next big step. To earn this new role the interns are competing to have the biggest net profit for a fundraiser. After navigating some ideas, including those that other interns have already claimed, Holly decides she is going to create a calendar to sale. The calendars are going to be guys and dogs. She needs to work with the office grump who also happened to be the one who literally saved her from being trapped in an office closet. While it seems like they're trying to remain professional as they work on this project, the spark does not go away.

It did feel like it drug on a little in the middle when they were doing all of the shooting. I think it could have been more streamlined in the text or had some more big moments in there, but then botta bing botta boom we were back in it for the last part of the book.

There were some pacing issues for me, but overall it was a great, casual summer read.

I do not know if that lull in the middle would have been different if I read with my eyeballs, but I enjoyed the audio of this one.
