Thanks again to Forever Publishers for this advanced e-copy! :)
Anna gave us sweet, tender and heartfelt chemistry and connection but a storyline to entertain and a plot that worked well in my opinion.
Holly is on a second career come back and is literally starting from the bottom as a previous lawyer now turn intern in a not for profit. It's a 360 degree she never anticipated but is embracing full on having dealt with a lying ex who spurred her previous career down fall.
Holly is motivated and committed so when the final challenge of the interns competition comes around she is willing to put her all in it. In comes Jonathan her only hope. The guy at the staff gathering she ended up making out with.
Let's just say these two didn't know what all these unfortunate events had in common with them meeting.
The banter and getting to know these characters is a sweet build up you don't want to look away from. It's that story that you want the girl to win but you are cheering on all those involved in their happily ever after.
The characters felt real and vulnerable with a tender chemistry that was felt right off the pages. Gobbled this one up!
A great. summer read! Sweet with all the chemistry, inspiration and love!
Happy Reading!

Well, this book has all the puppies and who can resist that. This was a quick read, although parts did feel very repetitive with the calendar shoots. I liked how our FMC was so ambitious and career oriented, but also able to grow throughout the book.

After her ex ruining her reputation at a law firm, Holly takes an unpaid internship at a nonprofit through the help of her friend. She has her sights set on a job in Scotland. The catch? She has to join a fundraiser contest with the winner getting the job. Holly is nothing if not persistent, convincing her coworker, Jonathan, to team up with her to help her win. Her idea: a calendar of men and their dogs. Things heat up between Holly and Jonathan, though their time together has an expiration date if Holly gets the job in Scotland.
The story is predictable but it was fun. This truly was a cozy rom com with an office grump. Moral of the story: if you want something done correctly, do it yourself. do not trust a man to do it correctly for you.

This was such a cute, cozy, and fluffy romance! It started off a bit slow, but around the halfway point, I really got into the storyline and found myself rooting for the main characters. Their journey kept me invested, and I loved seeing their relationship develop.
The main characters work together and soon partner up on a project to create a calendar featuring men and dogs. SWOON! Their banter was great and the MMC was a grumpy sunshine/golden retriever boy which I loved!
As an animal lover, the pet theme was a definite highlight! It added a sweet, heartwarming touch to the story. The book overall had a fun, lighthearted vibe with some genuinely funny moments that made me smile.
I listened to the audiobook, and the narrators did a great job bringing the characters to life. The audio quality was clear, and the performance made the story even more enjoyable.
If you're in the mood for a feel-good romance with charm, humor, and a dash of pet love, I definitely recommend this one!

This was a super cute grumpy/sunshine romance featuring two coworkers forced to work together on a charity project competing for a work promotion. Not quite enemies at first, but also not quite friends, once they begin working together the chemistry is electric! They quickly develop a friendship and not long after, things heat up! This book has a good amount of steam, not too much, just enough to feel genuine. I really liked the two main characters together.
I also totally loved that their project was a dog calendar! So fun! I'm always down to read a romance that features some cute pups and this story definitely had that! I was sold right away on that premise and ended up really enjoying the book. I would recommend adding this to your summer reading list for sure!

This one was very cute. I loved the premise. It was sweet to see Holly and Jonathan’s relationship progress over the course of the book. Seeing them work together on the calendar and open up to each other.
I also liked seeing their interactions with the men who modeled for the calendar. Seeing the funny situations that arose.
I feel like Holly’s reaction to Jonathan’s explanation at the end of the book was a little intense. But it was nice to see how it was resolved.
Really enjoyed and def recommend.
Thanks Hachette Audio for the audiobook via Netgalley

Thank you to Hachette Audio for my #gifted copy. My thoughts are my own.
Holly needs to win the big fundraising competition at work, because winning means getting a fantastic promotion from intern to a full-time job in Scotland--thousands of miles away from the big scandal that's following her around in Seattle. And from her toxic ex-boyfriend who caused it all. The last thing she wanted, though was to have to team up with the anti-social office grouch. But things get complicated really fast with a few too many drinks and now she's scrambling to compete with the other interns who are ten years younger and have twice her energy. The stakes are too high. So she definitely can't take the time to explore that *something* that is growing between her and Jonathan...can she?
Yay for high achievers! I can relate to Holly and burning out. And I really like Jonathan and how he and Holly get to know each other so slowly. This was a great slow burn romance with an achievable level of flirt (and humor) I wish I could unlock. And apparently I've been under a rock and missing out on the fabulous Lauren Ezzo! She makes the story come alive with a different voice for each character and gives serious Julia Whalen vibes. The audio production is crisp and the timing perfect. Bravo, team! A perfect summer read.
