For all the raving about a unique and compelling magic system, this just did not grip me at all. It wasn't lit-fic enough to be so vague, but it was too lit-fic to have such poor character development.
I enjoyed elements of the plot, and think that Sasha showed elements of interesting characterisation. However, this book seemed too smart for itself and did not convince me that the author knew what was going on.

i feel like it was supposed to be super weird and confusing, but just as someone said in the reviews, i think my brain was too small for this book.

the first part of the book was enjoyable since it was Sasha reading unreadable books etc, but once it got to the Word and Verb and Nouns, I was just lost and tried to read through the book asap cus i felt like my braincell were being wasted (literally)
