dark emotional fast-paced

the started date is prolly wrong but i’ve been reading this book for several months which is the main factor in my unreliable review. hard to rate something when you can’t remember all the details. what i do know is i enjoyed another sapphic book and this time the scenes included two involved parties unlike the one sided relationship in book 1. when it came to the plot… we weren’t here for the plot anyways. however i did feel like the first 2/3 of the book were following a smooth pace and the last 1/3 was more of a “shit we gotta wrap this thing up”. made it to the end tho so at least i can add it to the reading challenge.

would not really recommend nor would i read it again.

Dnf, really enjoyed the 1st book. Wasn’t a big fan of the plot for the second, and some of the grammar issues I couldn’t get over.

I like the books and love the characters but the books are always dark with painful cliffhangers. We got our happy ending but I was hoping for more connection between the characters sooner than we got it.

This sequel was a little disappointing compared with the first book. It felt rushed and somewhat confusing for a lot of the end bits but I’m glad it was a satisfying explanation for the first books cliffhanger

i am so glad that they got their HEA and don't feel like the ending felt wrong, but there was something that just left me a little underwhelmed by this sequel. i think the pacing felt a little off, and there was a lot of action in this book that probably should've taken up more time than the diplomacy side of things.

it is still absolutely worth the read, because it solves the cliffhanger and you get some answers about the mysteries of the first book, but it's just a sequel that was a little lacking in comparison to the first. i feel like maybe if this book had gone into more of the three years Silvia was on the run and more into the conspiracy and action stuff over two books rather than one then it would have been a lot better for me.
