A great intermingling of stories that I really had no way of guessing how they’d connect by the end. There was some much great narrative enmeshed with true events/characters/facts that I found interesting as someone with limited knowledge of DR.

Alvarez is an incredible writer, so I wasn’t worried about not liking this book. It wasn’t a new favorite of mine, but I still loved a lot of it.

The premise was unique and something that I think every writer can feel a connection with. However, the mystical elements of it and the time jumps confused me at a couple of places. This is a book that’s best read slowly!
