I’m really not one to leave a review (I think this is my first), but man, I just REALLY disliked this book. It had all the elements to be a great novel, but it missed the mark in every single way. I’ve read some bad books before, but nothing is more disappointing than a bad book that had the potential to be a great one.
This book really isn't what it originally seems and is much more delicious as it goes. A little bit of everything!
Gutted because I was really looking forward to reading this but just couldn’t get into it

Listened to the version read by Lucy Scott. Liked the narrator but man was the main character a frustrating grating person. Otherwise interesting story, kept me intrigued but as a Christie fan I would rather just watch the Dr. Who episode about her disappearance. Wish this story was just done without her.

The Christie Affair is a mystery centered around the sensational and scandalous chain of events that led to Agatha Christie’s disappearance for 11 days in 1926. Told through the eyes of Agatha Christies’ husband’s mistress, a story of secrets, revenge, and lust and murder emerges. I listened to this on audio. It was OK, but a bit slow-moving and felt repetitive in places.
3.5/5
I think this premise was really neat and I was excited. I like how it was also framed (in the second half) like a Christie mystery. I just felt that along the way it got lost. Also as a concept it got a little bit odd because it just feels weirdly voyeuristic, delving into these women’s lives (like reading about Miss Agatha having sex?!?), but I’d be curious to know how much of this is actually true. Also felt a tad bit long for what it was.
