Lie to Me

J.T. Ellison

3.62 AVERAGE

This book started out with a bang, kept banging then sort of slowed down near the end. Overall, a very good read that held my interest and began the question: how well do we really know people, even those closest to us?

Ending unclear :(

It was a decent book. I think the synopsis made it sound better than it was but I still enjoyed it. Nothing in this book really wowed me but that could be because it took me so long to get through, not sure.

I liked it. The twists. The ending leads me to believe the story's not over...

I rate simply: 5 = liked it, 3 = meh, and 1 = didn't like it.

Predictable. Good start but too many additions in the second half.

I just don't really think writing two unlikable protagonists and have them get back together in their white-picket-fence happy ending makes a good book????

ALSO, how do we gloss over the fact that he SWITCHED OUT HER BIRTH CONTROL???? AND THAT HE HIT HER??? WHY WAS HE REWARDED IN THE END OF THIS BOOK??? This story is infuriating to read. This is the worst.

My Book Box mystery selection.

I want to thank My Book Box because I doubt I would have picked this up on my own. So whoever made the selection, good job.

Ellison's novel ties the story about two relatively unlikable people who struggle though a rough patch in thier marriage. Neither Ethan or Sutton is particularly worthy of the title hero, though anti-hero would be apt. The character you root for is the cop Holly, who is caught up in thier lives simply because it is her job.

It's a brave book because of that. I like the format with the chapters that shift focus.
