Lie to Me

3.62 AVERAGE

Rounded up from 3.5 stars

"Gone Girl" with a happy ending. This book is quite engrossing until the end - the end was not so good.
medium-paced

While there were a few holes in this storyline, overall I enjoyed it and read it quickly. The Montclair's have a perfect marriage...or do they? One might think so until Sutton Montclair disappears and, of course, her gorgeous husband, Ethan, is the prime suspect.

If they gave awards for the most plot twists in a book, this would certainly win. I was really enjoying a solid beach read until the last 10%. I had to knock it down a star due to the ending, which really went to crazy town. I still enjoyed it though and think it would be fun to discuss with someone because it’s just so over the top in a good way.

2.5 rounded up - the twists were too twisty for me
dark mysterious slow-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: No
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

This book was disappointing. The beginning was okay, and then absolutely dragged in Sutton’s POV. The ending was bonkers in a bad way, and the twists left a lot of unresolved plot points. I also didn’t like the writing or characters.

After not having read a book for nearly a year and a half, this was a great one to get me back into the game. As a big fan of gone girl, this one did not disappoint. I had some theories about how it would end, but I wasn’t close! Good, fast, entertaining read.

Major kudos to my sis, @basicbsguide for providing me with such great suggestions!!
