'Set amidst the hidden world of Georgian London’s gay scene, The Betrayal of Thomas True is a brutal and devastating thriller, where love must overcome evil, and the only true sin is betrayal…'

I have been hearing great things about this book for month's but kept putting it off.  Wish I hadn't such a fantastic story.
So descriptive you can completely see everything being described and feel what the time and the world would have been like.
The writing style might not be for everyone but after a few pages you find yourself relaxing into it and letting it flow.

I had no previous knowledge of Mollies or that time period.  "We are Mollies. Always together."
This book will take you through a full range of emotions as you see Acceptance, love, loss and clue in the title betrayal.

Think this will be one I go back to for a reread.

I had very high hopes from this one, but sadly I didn’t enjoy it. The story is actually fantastic, the author found a very interesting topic, but the execution of this idea does not impress. First of all, I did not feel the love between Thomas and Griffin. I needed more depth, I needed the characters to have more depth, growth and just something more… There is a murderer called the Rat who kills the mollies, and also works like a spy and gives out their names to the Society. There is a young boy getting killed and Thomas is the newest molly in town, so they suspect him. But then all the molly characters do sound and feel the same, there is no tension, no world building. There are just too many words that lead nowhere. I did not root for Thomas, Griffin, their love or anything else and I did not care about who the Rat might be, because of the way this book is structured. I think the love story did have a lot of potential, the Rat story could have been great, but sadly it did not work for me. This book could have done wonders with a better structure, a balanced and better pace and a good editing. I am sorry to write this review, because I think the author has a creative talent for ideas, to end this review in a more positive note: I will follow the author’s new works to see what he will do in the future.
