This book was all over the place. I loved the premise about two friends transported into a book only to realize that everything was upside down. How interesting that the characters didn't end up being like they were portrayed in the book! However, outside of that premise, the plot was very messy and disjointed. Most of the scenes were fillers, there was no character development, and most frustratingly, no answers at the end. I'm not sure if this was to make way for a sequel (it didn't appear so), but instead of a cohesive conclusion were were left with a strange epilogue that took place a year later. Very disappointing.

DNF, the audio book narrator sounds like a computer reading the book. Imagine the terrible auto TikTok audio for a whole book.

I’ve never been so terrified by a YA novel, in the most delightful way. A terrific gothic horror page turner.
After 75 pages this just couldn’t grab me and I didn’t want to hit a slump so it’s a DNF.

Hmmm, okay. I thought the premise of this was really interesting. Two girls entering the world of their favorite book? Sign me up! I really liked the start and how they entered the world. It was exciting. But then, the world of Moira itself… I didn’t like it. The characters felt quite flat and just there for one purpose. Like Mississippi, she felt like she was just there to be a love intrest.
I was excited to see what would happen if they got out of the book. But that wasn’t talked about. And that felt like a real bummer for me. Also, the epilogue was just very confusing. Like, what happened with Mr Straven?
Overall, 2,5 stars
