I found the first half of the book to be a bit slow (honestly a very common theme to SJM's books) but I enjoy the characters enough that I couldn't put it down, and then like many of her other works everything quickly started to devolve. Looking forward to the next!

I liked this book more than the first (Throne of Glass). It had a more in-depth and complicated plot, but it was very confusing to me. Even in the end, when I found out
Celaena was really Aelin
. I feel like I need to re-read this book to fully understand it (I’m not going to). I did like the twist at the end revealing that
Archer was actually behind it all
. I also thought that this book was more interesting because there was more magic. It reminded me more of ACOTAR. Overall, it was good, just confusing and I need a bit more clarification when it comes to heavy plots.

I truly enjoyed the second installment of the Throne of Glass series. A great continuation of the first book yet even more intriguing. I’m excited to see where it goes from here!

Did I understand a single thing that happened in this book? No. Did I enjoy every second of it? Yes.

That ending was so predictable. If 1+1=2, then of course Celaena is Aelin… Idk why Chaol reacted like that at the end tbh.

Also, speaking of Chaol, his and Celaena’s romance felt so forced. I much preferred her with Dorian (please give him another chance 😪). Their relationship just felt like another plot device that was created to keep the story ‘interesting.’ Did I still eat up their scenes together? Of course I bloody did.

All those things about the Wyrdkeys went straight over my fat head. I have no clue what’s going on but I loved it. I rated it lower than TOG because I didn’t enjoy it as much.

I loved this sequel to the first book and so excited to start the third! It was such a journey watching Celaena learn more about herself and go through her struggles, but the twist at the end has me looking forward to the rest of her story!
