I listened to this on an audiobook, and they were very clear right away that there were some trigger warnings related to this book, including the MMC being an actual villain, and to be not confused and glorified as a protagonist

I would say that that was absolutely accurate. He was very controlling and manipulative of the MFC the entire book.

I thought there were a lot of really cool elements to the storyline of this book, including the fact that the ancestors were skeleton-like undead witches that extended their lifespan
•
I also liked the mysterious factor of the students being murdered throughout the school and trying to figure out the who done it
•
The MMC was a demon who obviously didn’t have a heart and could not fall in love or be trusted, but his gigantic betrayal at the end still had me confused. I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop in to see you in the second book that he actually did make a lot of of his decisions to protect Willow.

i’m not sure what i expected from this book but it definitely wasn’t what i got. the writing wasn’t that great, there were so many confusing sentences that made no sense and i was constantly rereading parts for it to still not make sense. the ending was actually unexpected though and it might make me pick up the next book

Felt scattered in the middle, solid start and solid end. I think reading would be better than listening to audio book. Like the world and was growing to like the characters. Will for sure read the second book.
