Honestly, my fault for taking reading recommendations from someone that called November 9 by ms Hoover an angsty love story.
I really enjoyed this one even though it took me a while to read it but once I focused on it I could not put it down. At the beginning of the book Willow and her brother are at the funeral for their mother. However, before she can fully grieve the death of her mother she is forced to leave her home. She is a witch that has grown up with no schooling and kept secret from the Coven. When her mother dies the magic that has been shielding her stops. Quickly it is evident that nothing is at it seems and everyone is keeping secrets. I really like Gray and all of the interactions between the two of them. That ending is everything and I can not wait to see what happens next. I am so happy I do not have to wait long for book 2. This is the perfect read for the spooky and fall season!
This instantly just made my top five favorites of all time. The pacing, the characters, the banter, the lore/magic. It was all perfect.

I really wanted to love this book but it just fell short for me. I couldn’t connect with the characters and the ended felt a bit rushed. I’m still going to read book 2.
