I don't really know Eve very well so it's hard to know if a character who seems to have been described fairly blackly in my previous reads should suddenly be seen so positively. That being said it was a good read as lays really for Armstrong

Well let’s see, I liked the book but didn’t love it.
I don’t know if the whole ghost thing has me scratching my head. Or if it is the portals the dimensions I don’t know. I just know that this isn’t my favorite of the series so far.

Eve isn’t really a character I wanted to know more about, that could have also been why I didn’t really connect with her. I did think the narrator was a great Eve. I see her as a lot older than Paige and as I said before I didn’t think she sounded like Paige’s age.

I also really think this book could have been A LOT shorter. This Nix thing escaping so often, sooo much dialogue that just didn’t need to be there.

I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it.
The ending was sweet I will say the balance was needed and I enjoyed that.

Reread, probably 2.5 stars rounding up because this would have improved with a good editor. This is the worst of the series. It’s disturbing, and not in a good way, with a lot of gleeful, fetishistic killing. I don’t really like Eve or Kristof, and I don’t think the author does either. The world building is interesting, if tedious. I’ll never read this one again and suggest spoilers to any who don’t insist on reading every single book of a series. You won’t miss much.

I love this series but I'll be honest this is my least favorite book. I was excited to get a book with Eve and Chris but I think I would have rather it was from the past. This one just didn't grab me like the others have. I was glad we get a little Paige, Lucas, Savannah and Jamie in this book.

The narration is good, she fit much better for Eve I think than she doesn't Paige.

This one has been my favorite. I can't help but like Eve, who is fundamentally "good," contrary to her reputation as a dark witch, but who is more realistic and willing to be ruthlessly expedient when necessary. Eve's struggle with her obsession with finding a way to come back from the afterlife to protect get daughter, and the way in which she ultimately arrives at a new life and purpose are sympathetic. The way in which female serial killers from history were included was cheekily enjoyable, too.

This is the fifth book in the series 'Women of the Otherworld'. I think the lead in 'Haunted', Eve Levine, is her second best. Elena is her best lead, with Eve close behind. I just wish there was more Eve. She is a very funny character. Eve is a well written character. Many people would be able to relate to her. Yes, I would most definitely recommend this book to anyone.

As mentioned in the above paragraph, Eve Levine is the lead in 'Haunted'. Eve is the mother to Savannah, the teenager that Paige is guardian of. Eve is a half-demon, black witch and a ghost. She also owes the Fates. The time to pay them back, has come. Eve will have to do everything she can to get the Nix, and it seems that means she will have to use an angel's sword. Will she become an angel just to get the Nix?

Armstrong is very good at introducing new characters before giving them a book to themselves and this is no different. We've already met the main character, Eve, in 'Stolen' and her name has come up multiple times in both 'Dime Store Magic' and 'Industrial Magic' so readers will be familiar with her. Having been painted as a black witch it is surprising to find out that she's not as evil as everyone thought and is capable of redemption for the evil she did perpetrate. This book also builds on both Savannah's and Paige's story-lines and ties them all in neatly. Another excellent addition to the series.

It might sound redundant, but this book truly was haunting. I found Eve's perspective very interesting and like the different direction this one took from the first four novels. Eve is so different than Paige and Elena and being inside her mind was an experience. The plot was also very different from the previous four and somewhat refreshing. I liked the flashbacks to the Nix's past. This was probably the most frightening of all of the novels as well, and just goes to show Kelley Armstrong's talent in creating a feeling.
