This was so bad that I could've sworn this must be one of Macomber's first books. Before she matured as a writer.

Gaaaaah. What a silly little book. I wanted to listen to a cheesy lifetime movie type Christmas book, so I chose this one based upon the cover and availability through the library.

Positives: The cover. The dog. The book length.
Negatives: Everything else.

I happened to stumble across this book while looking for a currently available Christmas themed audiobook on Libby. It ended up being exactly what I needed for my drive to work.

I enjoyed the characters but Little Blade stole the show for me. I thought the romance was believable.
I think mixing Christmas romance with terrorism was a weird choice and I couldn't help but think that this book would have been more interesting if Ashley really had been who they had been looking for.

The book wasn't amazing but it was cute, had some good moments and kept me entertained. Now let's see if I can find the movie version!

Really good, easy listen.

I loved the storyline and the characters. The writing is fab, I've only read one other book by this author and enjoyed it so I'm glad to see it wasn't a one off good one.

Digital audiobook read by Allison Ryan

Ashley Davison makes a last-minute decision to go home to Seattle and see her Mom over Christmas. Dashiell Sutherland has a job interview in Seattle and must arrive by December 23rd. Both are out of luck when trying to book a last-minute flight out of San Francisco; every flight is full and there’s only one rental car left. They reluctantly agree to share the car. They start out in silence but eventually begin to open up, learning they have more in common than they originally thought.

Of course, there are more than a few twists and turns on the road to HEA. An abandoned puppy, a couple of petty thieves, a threatening snowstorm, and a case of mistaken identity (that has the FBI on their trail) cause more than a few delays. But never fear, it’s a holiday rom com and the duo will find true love with one another! So, curl up in a comfy chair, with a warm blanket and the beverage of your choice and enjoy.

Allison Ryan reads the digital audiobook with charm and grace and an infectious enthusiasm that had me smiling throughout.

What a whirlwind. It reads like one of those really silly comedy movies. There's not much depth to this one. Its lighthearted, quickly paced with a cute puppy, gorgeous guy, and a pair of daft FBI agents who don't know their left hand from their right.

I hated it a lot but also I couldn't stop reading. I'm not one for cheesy romance novels but this was the only Christmas book I could get my hands on at the moment.
Things I hated:
- The FBI terrorist plot line was suuuuper stupid. The entire time I was hoping she would be a terrorist so that the story would be more interesting. The FBI agents were just stupid. Why did they think she was a terrorist? I get that she was the wrong woman but is the FBI THIS stupid? If we were in 17th century GB, this book would be treason.
- They were cute at times but it felt s o forced whenever they admitted their feelings or had "sexual tension." I might just be a prude but I cringed every time.
- The characters were unlikable and didn't talk like real people. Why did she need to argue with Stephanie in the beginning? Why did she immediately assume Stephanie was a sexist? Why was Dash so rude to Ash the entire time? I understand that its "flirting" but whenever she was genuinely upset about something he brushed her off with that "smile." Maybe I'm nitpicking but I wanted to fall in love with the couple and the characters. I wanted to live vicariously through them. That's the point of these books.

Things I liked:
-Dash seemed to be a gentleman so it's a shame he is such a sexist
-The writing was compelling and I couldn't stop reading it.
- I like Christmas and dogs
