I had not intended on reading this book because alien stories don't interest me in the slightest. I really enjoyed this book though, it sucked me in and kept my interest for majority. In typical Meyer fashion, the ending for wanderer was emotionally cheesy and drawn out a little bit longer than I felt it should have been but eventually she moved on with it and wrapped it up nicely. I loved both main female characters, they both clearly had their strengths and weaknesses and grew to appreciate each others. It was just such a good story and I'm glad that I read it.

it's rly slow at the beging.. i have to admit. but by the last like 100-150 pages.. that's all you'll remember of the story. loved it!

I know that it has problems, and enforces gender roles, and okays abusive relationships. But I can't help it, I love this book and I continue to love it on every re-read.
emotional reflective tense slow-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

the amount of times i've read this book is upsetting. as i've aged, so has the book and not in the best ways. mama steph why are you so obsessed with teenagers and age gaps. literally added nothing to the plot. and issues related to bodily autonomy are a bit more clear. either way it's still addictive to me. i still love the cave life and all the weird strained relationships with everyone. first 100 pages are still a drag, but i appreciate them a bit more than i did as a teen. not as into the love triangle and that detracts more now, but i still eat this up every time. nostalgia rating. i can't help myself.

Am not that much with sifi books , but this one changed my mind

As good as, if not better than, Twilight!

A group of aliens have taken over earth by taking over humans bodies. However for Wanderer she has found that her human Melanie is not ready to give up just yet. This was an interesting take on aliens. When I was reading the book I would be into the story and what was going on, but if I had to put the book down I wasn't interested in picking it up. I feel that overall it was a good book, but a bit long.

It took me a while to actually get past the first chapter and force myself to read this book. It took quite a few more chapters to be invested. And a couple more after that to be hooked.

This is a really good book, but the start is slow. The size of the book, itself, is daunting but you have to push through the first hundred pages or so to really like it. It gradually gets better and better.

The ending was good and can be left without a sequel, but personally, I like at least two sequels. It's been awhile since this book came out so I'm thinking that's not gonna happen. But I'm gonna hold out hope anyways.

If you think the book is broody and sappy... try the audiobook. The reader- I really don’t care enough to find her name- reads the entire. Entire. Entire book in this breathy-sappy monotone fashion that completely detracted from the story. I like the concept - sorta like Heinlein’s “Friday” or “Puppet Master.” With less snark. Less intellect. I will watch the movie because it has potential. Who doesn’t like a Puppet Master-esque story?
