This book deserves a proper review, if I could have given it 4.5 stars I would have. I picked this off my shelf as it is a book that has sat there for a while, not one I bought but one my fiance got from a friend. I'm glad I read it.

Corey Taylor's crazy way of writing is a welcome change to the books I have been reading recently, he goes off on tangents about thing that are completely irrelevant to the current story yet always returns to the original point, keeping it entertaining all the way through.

Instead of just ghost stories he gives his own theories and theories that friends have offered him. His idea on Intelegent energy is something I have often pondered and the science he uses behind it makes excellent reading, it may be flawed at points as he points out himself (I cannot comment on if it is because I am not a scientist) but it gets the juices flowing. He makes a stand on relegion but does not Bury it, like Vince and Shane Mcmahon vs Shawn Michaels and God, but provides his argument for and against.

His story telling in regards to his experiences are well written and full of his own brand of enthusiasm. Well worth the read and I would recommend it to anyone who has even a fleeting interest in the paranormal.

Firstly, let me make it clear, I am a HUGE Corey Taylor fan, I've been following his music for about 15 years now, and I have read all of his other books. That being said, this book had high standards to live up to... And it exceeded them.
This book was so quirky and weird and absolutely brilliant, especially in the way it was written. The thing I love about Corey's writing is, it feels like you're right there with him, sitting across from him at his kitchen counter just talking shit like old friends, catching up. He gets distracted and goes off into other little mini stories, and then pulls himself right back out of it by saying "fuck, we'll get into that more later, where was I again?" And I honestly just think that adds some Corey character... We can't always be 100% focused all the time, right?
While reading this book, I found myself wanting to go out and explore abandoned places and look for ghosts, but was also jumping at every noise I heard in my own house. I really just thought it was terrific and can't wait for another Corey Taylor book.

I loved this book. I love Corey's writing style. His personality shines through his writing so much that you can almost hear him telling you the stories.

I love his take on the paranormal and religion alike. I love that he shares a most of the same stances I do when it comes to opinions on spirits and what not.

His brilliance and humor shine through for sure!

His stories are great, his talking is awesome and it's definitely a book I'd recommend for Corey fans and fans of the Paranormal!

30% paranormal anecdote, 70% hot mess.

i like corey taylor, i like listening to him during interviews, he's an incredibly talented musician. that being said:

this book really needed a strong editor to control the stream of consciousness babble that took up the majority of the work. each chapter would whet your appetite with introductions to his ghost encounters & then just rambled about everything/anything else.

i was really disappointed.

As a religious person I have no problem reading an atheist perspective. We all have a right to believe what we want. However, saying that your biggest problem with organized religion is hatred while spewing nothing but hate and vitriol towards religion makes you a hypocrite. You don’t have to spew hatred in order to defend your beliefs.

Great read. Very typical Corey Taylor style.
Laugh out loud moments along side OMG moments and some serious ideas to consider too.

With this being my first Corey Taylor book I was extremely excited to read it. The promise of ghosts, first-hand paranormal activity & scientific ramblings on how this phenomena was possible was intriguing.

Firstly I noticed that Taylor loves to ramble... a lot. Unnecessary amounts of rambling in order to fill his page quota perhaps, but the book would have been better without. Once I got past the rambling, the stories were quite chilling and made me question whether these activities were the outcome of an over-active imagination on Taylor's part or whether it actually happened. I thoroughly enjoyed reading each of the ghost stories and how each of these gave more details into how Slipknot/Stone Sour toured the country and made their albums.

The book was a great, exciting read which gave me chills when the ghost stories came out to play among the incessant scientific theories and Corey's own beliefs on religion/the paranormal/life. Although, that's not to say that some of the filler writing wasn't pleasant and enjoyable to read, letting Corey's humorous and intelligent personality shine through and never dulling throughout the entirety of the book.

I love how Corey Taylor writes. He keeps me glued to the pages. I didn’t enjoy this as much as his first book but it was quite insightful and I love hearing stories about the paranormal.
There were times I thought this is dragging when he tried to talk about more scientific based theories but it kept me interested to want to find out more about his experiences and ideas.
A very clever, funny and honest read.
