Solid thriller with a compelling plot. Decent writing, although I started rolling my eyes every time the words “And yet” were used to transition to a new thought. Also the random shifts from first person to omniscient narration were strange. Four stars because the plot kept me turning pages!
Con game played out over years. Very good. Loved the dual narrative and ties back to high school.
Meh. Hooked me in the first couple of chapters, LOTS of filler and then a rather cliche descent. I hoped for a rip-roaring good crime time but was merely served a dose of social media guilt on a platter. It felt as if the author was using a lot of the middle chapters to document her own personal feelings about Instagram bloggers and KarJenner types. It just got LAZY.
2 stars overall due to fluff, boredom and predictability.
An extra star to make it 3 because it was a good busy book for me while doing crafts and I could take a power nap while listening, waking up and not feeling like I missed anything.

The plot twists were good, but they were set up so slowly that by the time they arrived, they’d been figured out. And I am not even the kind of reader that makes any effort to figure out the end as I go....
Great story. It would have been just as great if it were 100 pages shorter.
Some bits of nice writing and good twists, but way too long. would have benefited from tighter editing
Lady has a sick mom and makes a plan to scam someone who wronged her in the past to pay for sick moms cancer treatment. That’s the book.
Super simple read. I did have a few “say whaaaa???” moments. Nothing too crazy. I did not feel like there was anything left unturned at the end of it all. That’s an extra star in and of itself!

Set in mansion in Lake Tahoe, these characters are all a mess but in a good way that keeps you listening until the last page. Great audio book!
