It’s a good and gripping read, filled with vengeance and hate and lots of deceit and lies. There are so many twists in this narrative and I love how it focuses on two strong women in different ways, one who is born and raised to be living on the fringes and stealing from wealthy people to get back at the society that keeps the poor downtrodden and the other a rich, entitled heiress who’s life on the outside looks golden and blessed but is also just as poisonous and lonely. These two meet again and it’s who will triumph that raises the stakes. Seriously it’s such a fantastic read.

Scammers art historian Nina/"Ashley", her flirty mother, and charming Lachlan/"Michael" set their sights on wealthy prey, like influencer Vanessa and her family. I enjoyed how we got the alternating perspectives of Nina and Vanessa, and how most of the characters were more complex than they first appeared. This was a very entertaining tale with a satisfying sense of justice/karma.

Loved the ending and the buildup to it but the first 300- maybe more pages were very slow. I’d love to recommend it to people solely for the ending but don’t want to put anyone through the excruciating task of reading the first 2/3s of the book. The multiple POVs was cool too but a lot of insignificant details could have been cut.
