I love this. I found it adorable, funny, and cathartic. The emotional intelligence and introspection of Alexis Hall is off the charts.

Alexis Hall is one of my favourite authors so I will probably read anything he writes but this was the hardest of his books to read for me as someone with anxiety. I can't figure out if it was because the anxiety was so well done and just hit too close to home, or if it was so well done and I normally read fo escape from my own intrusive thoughts so it was like having a mirror shoved up in front of me. Either way it was not a relaxing read despite lots of comic relief thrown in.

I loved many aspects of this book, but I don't necessarily think Tariq and Paris are a strong match. There were many things Tariq said in heated moments that were cruel and challenging to come back from. Paris also said some things that go beyond anxiety and fall into the category of immaturity and ignorance. That being said, it's fiction, so it's a fun time!

I really wanted to like this book, because I enjoyed Boyfriend Material so much. By the end, I just wanted to be done, and not because I wanted to find out what happened.

Paris has terrible anxiety. That's not the problem. While I could relate to his struggles, I found it unrealistic that three months of a support group with some medication would be enough to significantly improve his life outlook and thought process/anxiety. Especially when he had been like that most of his life. Wouldn't it be amazing if we could all make such progress in three months?

Skip this book. Read Boyfriend Material instead. That's delightful.
