I thought this one felt predictable. I kinda lost my interest about half way through because I thought, oh great, this is going to happen. A few days later I picked it up again and I was COMPLETELY WRONG about what would happen. Suspenseful and enjoyable all the way until the end.

Deanna is such a bada$$. I love this character. I enjoy watching the development of the romance between Deanna & Jeremy . I think this book was better than the first one, I couldn’t put this one down.
This is a perfectly good sequel, but as there is a character who lives in Worcester, Massachusetts, this is automatically falls into my great sequel category.
Deanna Madden is edging her way up my list of top favorite heroines at a very quick pace, and I'm really looking forward to the next book.

Another fabulous installment. It probably is darker than The Girl in 6E ( and that was brutal) but the characters were even more developed. I need If You Dare now!

Really enjoyed this, a super fast paced tense read that I got through in mostly 2 days.
A darker and more graphic read than the first in the series, especially the sexual violence so big trigger warnings there.
Both books in the series I've found to be slightly cringey at first with the whole 'im so dark and evil and dangerous', but it definitely tones down once you're reintroduced to the character and the plot gets going. The reading experience will definitely benefit from a lil suspension of disbelief, but then you're in for a good time.
The romance element of this was a surprise but not a bad one. I'm not really a romance person so it didn't add much for me but it was a fun way to explore our main character a bit more. One thing I do have to say about the romance though is it felt very fast for me personally. For someone who's been shut up and isolated for 3 years, she gets attached and let's herself become vulnerable reaaal quick.
I also oddly found the main character a little less likeable in this one. Despite the whole murderous tendencies I actually kinda grew attached to her in the first one, but in this one she just came across a little more bitchy, especially in her interaction with Jamie, the only female character she really interacts with. Didn't really vibe with the girl hate and competitiveness. Really enjoyed getting to know Mike better though.
I really did have fun with this though (not sure 'fun' is the right word when it comes to the difficult to read scenes of sexual violence but yknow what I mean), definitely invested in the plot and the characters, and excited to continue the series.

Not sure why I liked this less than the first. I really enjoyed the development of Mike as a character, but overall I wasn't racing through this as much as the first. Narrator once again does an excellent job on the audiobook though
I enjoyed this one even more than the 1st! The twists and turns and wondering what's going to happen next. I also really enjoyed that we got to learn more about her friend, Mike. Wow. Can't wait to read the 3rd. My heart hurts knowing it's the last ...for now, I hope.
very offensive language that feels unnecessary 99% of the time
