She had three simple rules. 1. Don’t leave the apartment. 2. Never let anyone in. 3. Don’t kill anyone. But now she had a taste of freedom, and she can’t go back.
This was the sequel to the Girl in 6E.
Deanna Madden had spent three years of her life living in isolation. She had everything she needed delivered to her. She makes money by being a webcam girl.
Five months ago she left her apartment when she found out that one of her client’s had kidnapped a young girl. She save the girl. She doesn’t know if the abductor survived their meeting.
Deanna has gotten back into her normal routine, but she is indulging herself now. She has a boyfriend that take her day time date, makes small excursions for ice cream and lotto tickets, and she still spends her days in front of the webcam.
A new client freebird71 can’t seem to follow the rules. After four chats she blocks him . . . and he doesn’t take it well. Freebird71 is now on a mission to find her alter ego Jessica Reilly.
I really liked this sequel. I liked the growth we saw in Deanna. She is still dealing with her dark urges. She is pushing herself to overcome her fears.
We also got to learn more about her friend/client. I loved getting to know Mike, I thought he was funny and the right mix of heartbreaking.
I always wanted to give this book an A, but the same instalove that stopped me in the first book stopped me with this one. I am just not a huge fan of the Jeremy/Deanna pairing. I still feel like I know next to nothing about him.
I give this book a B.

I really liked the The Girl in 6E and I was excited to dip into the next adventure. However, 7% in I was hit in the face with one of the most tired, stereotypical tropes that my entire body groaned. I get the character is supposed to be unlikable, but it's such a cheap way to get the reader there. It stopped me dead. I may attempt to finish at some other time. I'm done for now. DNF.d
A little boring at times, but still really really good!

I picked up this book on the bargain table by chance, not knowing it was part of a series. It was a good read, but I was out of the loop on Deanna's history which made be not really connect with her. I need to go back and read the first one...
