Ugh, what a frustrating read. Flat side characters, bad romance and annoyingly repetitive exposition. Everything seemed to be on the surface, barely scratching for the depth. There were of course suspense moments but I do not like how things end for Marcus and Deanna, it could have been better.

Finally found the time to finish the book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Deanna got a badass kill this time around and gave Marcus what was coming to him. My only regret is that she didn't drag it out longer. Can I just say that Mike became such a endearing character for me. A complete surprise. I read the author's note at the end explaining her original intention for poor Mike and I'm relieved her husband put a stop to that twisted nonsense. lol. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

2.75 stars. This book is kinda trash (100% guilty pleasure) but such a fast read.
