My, my, my! What a delightful adventure!

I hadn't read a heist novel before and dare I say, I love it? This story works perfectly for me ; well-crafted world-building (even though I haven't read THE BONE HOUSES by the same author), compelling characters, elemental magic, a dog character, a complicated father/daughter relationship, a greedy king, the fair folk, and casual queerness. And a lovely side romance who kept me hoping for the two main characters. What more to ask?

My only real complaint is about the use of the word "mayhap". Too many occurences really put me off.

4,5/5, really did the job!

It may have been the audio narrator, but I felt like I was listening to a fantasy version of a Guy Ritchie heist movie. A fun story.
