Such a good graphic novel! Such a good Spider-Man story! I am 100% behind Miles Morales as a super hero!

So not only was this a super fun graphic novel, but it touched on some social issues to. The whole Puerto Rico thing hit particularly home for me as I got back from visiting there yesterday.

I do think in places the story could’ve been sped up a tad. But it mostly had a good pace to it.

I loved that Peter Parker had a cameo!

I also enjoyed the somewhat sarcastic narration of the story from Miles.

TBR, YOU ARE GOING DOWN!

This was a fun look at preteen Miles Morales, brought to life by Justin Reynold's writing. The number of pop culture references were appreciated and also highlighted how many years its been since i was a wee teen. Some things never change - like artist block, which is relatable and the inability to dance (you're not alone, Miles).

This graphic novel may be short but it covers a depth of topics like balancing all aspects of your life, environmental disasters, capitalism, family, friendships and dealing with creative blocks. All in all, a fun time for me and the physical tbr is down a book!

BTW, I got this book for two reasons - one, im a huge fan of the franchise and two, ITS AUTHORED BY JUSTIN REYNOLDS!! I'm making a pledge (on goodreads!) to read more of his work since Long Way Down made me emotional in all the best ways and I'm excited to see where Miles goes next.

Beautiful message, just very simple and predictable. I would love to read a longer, more deep story. The characters were lots of fun to get to know.
