I know I'm not the intended audience, but I can't leave a book on my shelf unread so its time finally came.
Did not realize this was a leg of a bigger series, so it took me a bit to get familiar with the characters and setting since that build up wasn't there. However, I ended up really enjoying it despite not knowing what adventures they had been through before. I finished up excited to move on to the next.

As a big horse lover, I'm glad we finally got some horse names. Honey, Bella, and Swift are adorable names and I can see them in my head perfectly!

I thought the premise was super neat and the execution was pretty cool. The plot twist was crazy!

I'm excited for the dragons and how they'll interact with the world.

There wasn't much I didn't like, but I took a star off because it wasn't quite entertaining. It was mostly them walking around solving problems. It wasn't boring, just had very little entertainment value due to what was happening rather than the story itself.

The Deltora Quest series was of interest to me in the past because of the randomly thrown riddles and puzzles that young Lief had to solve in his adventures. While Rodda's first seven books will always be better than her next set, Dragon's Nest promised an adventure just as enticing as the search for the seven jewels of Deltora's belt. Fortunately, I actually own the next book of the series. I have my brother to thank for that.
