I love a good fairytale retelling, and so far this has not disappointed!
With an Arabian Nights feel, mixed with a few other fairytales, this book had me hooked!!
There were twists and turns I DID NOT see coming.
So well written, with characters you just can’t help but love or loathe.

I think this is a great concept and the world building is there but the plot is a mess. I couldn't engage with the characters at all. The main MC, Kiran, is a blank slate. Other than being an elf and massive you know nothing about him. You get no time in his head to understand why he all of the sudden goes from hating all human females to being possessive and thinking positively about the FMC.
I read almost 400 pages and I'm still pretty confused about the various plot lines. I may pick this back up and finish it but I would just be skimming it to get to the end.
I think the author has potential but she needs a much better editor.

So I really enjoyed this stand alone fantasy. It had a mix of so many different fantasy elements. It was a little slow to get into but once it took off I couldn’t put it down. At one point I threw my kindle across the couch. I really enjoyed Asha as a FMC and I really enjoyed Kiran’s growth. I would love to read another book with these characters as some things at the end were still left up in the air a bit.
it was 5 stars
Immediately after finishing this book it was a 5 star read for me. Then I realized it’s a stand-alone and it has bothered me ever since. Now that I know Asha and Kiran are done the ending bothers me. It feels rushed, and incomplete. I wanted a little more time of them in a good place in their lives. The ending is what led me to believe there would be more for them. Now I’m sad. I don’t generally like series that are made of interconnected stand alone books so I’m not sure I will be reading the next one.
