Finally! An X-men book I can really get into. Great character mix and characterization with some fantastic art.

Even though I have this one only three stars it’s still a pick for me. Especially compared to the “color” X books out right now. The one thing that pulled me out and dropped the rating a bit was the jarring change in art for the final issue. And who the hell is Fantomex? I haven’t been a regular reader of The X-Men for years but I have no idea who this character is or was prior to the 2000’s. If he existed then. 3⭐️’s

Well the ending is one big huh? But the rest of the book was surprisingly good. Inspired choice of characters hidden as the stupid random selection I'd expect from this kind of X-Men book. A bit confused, but not too confused. And just executed really well. So the writing is okay, the art is okay, but the plot is really good. And its got characters in it that I basically don't appreciate, well and Old Man Logan. And it didn't matter. A good use for Bishop. And Psylocke. And Fantomex.

I enjoyed this book. I liked the split between the real world and the astral plane. I liked the mix of characters involved and the overall arc of the story. I’ll be looking out for volume 2.

I was really disappointed with this one. I thought I would adore it because it is all my favorite X-men characters. I found it lack luster and boring. They changed the artwork at the end and I despise that. Honestly there was one scene I enjoyed and everything else I was annoyed by.

I liked a lot of the narrative but I'll admit to being a bit lost, but still hopeful. I trust Soule.
