Really loved the series as a whole but this last book was sooooo long and I found myself losing interest. It took me almost a month to read this book when it took me a day to read the others. I actually put this one down and read something else for a while. The intrigue of the door brought me back, but I skimmed a lot so I could finally get to the ending. The series as a whole is good, but it deserved a more concise ending.

Much much better but I wish she as faster to develop to the plot and have characters decide what they were always going to decide sooner!

Had to skip several descriptions and much blablabla. But I enjoyed it and the story does hook you. Even though sometimes is a bit cringe lol

The ending fell a bit short, all of these problems to be solved in an epilogue? Anyways

I placed my original review of the series on the first book because if you’ve made it to the reviews of this book, odds are you’re already hooked into this series. Here it is because it bares repeating again, the books are that good:

This series is so unexpected, so unique, bold and masterful. Beautifully written, so complex, so thorough in its history and depth and character. It’s a little dark, and poignant, and poetic, occasionally wistful, and remarkably intelligent throughout all four books about relationships and religion and myth and fables and found family and mystery and a touch of fantasy. Packaged together with some of the most well written, spiciest scenes I have ever read. Sierra Simone is truly a master at what she does. This series was absolutely stunning in so many surprising ways. *chefs kiss*

The final instalment of the Thornchapel story fell short of the mark for me.
There was so much lead up to the final set piece and I felt that the story dragged on and on a bit too much.

Overall it was an interesting story, with some hot and sexy scenes that did not disappoint.

Almost as bad of an ending as GOT. So many things left unanswered. Wrapping up a 4 book series in only an epilogue was not the move.

Still loved the series, but feel like the readers deserve more
