I usually LOVE C.H. but this was a challenge to get through, I found it lacking and nothing unexpected happened
You can say whatever you want about CoHo but you can’t say her books aren’t entertaining - but this book was ‘butterflying’ bad
HAHA - it’s only funny if you’ve read the book & then it’s still actually not that funny.

Found this online, and ended up skimming through it. Unfortunately, I just didn't like the characters. The Slammed series is probably my least favorite of Hoover's despite everything it has going for it, Layken's whiny personality just kills this book.
Great sequel! This book did a great job of continuing the story of Lake and Will. The frustrations helped build tension before the wonderful release of the ending.
Point of Retreat wasn’t as good as the first book, Slammed. This was mostly about Will and Layken being immature, throwing tantrums, and wanting to have sex. What the heck happened to Will from the first book?! There’s a lot of things Will did in this book that really bothered me. A few things that really stood out…
2) He wouldn’t let Layken take the vase full of paper stars that HER MOTHER made just because he wanted to see her.
3) The way he handled Kristen’s bully. What man in his early twenties threatens a twelve year old!? There are much better, way more mature, and less psychotic ways to talk to a bully.
Spoiler
1) He disabled Layken’s car battery so she’d have to ride with him to Detroit.2) He wouldn’t let Layken take the vase full of paper stars that HER MOTHER made just because he wanted to see her.

Didn't rock my world like the first book, but I still loved Will and Layken.
