it was decent but the characters kinda annoyed me and Lou did too which is weird bc her book is one of my favourites in the series

Deliciously dark but ultimately left me wanting
I don't how how or why but I expected and I wanted more from this!
The insanely stark duality between beloved, sweet town angel with a dark present and truly clinically psychopathic enforcer with a dark past finding a way to come together could've been more explosive for me, ugh I don't know.
Solid 3.5 though.

Sweet Bea
I fell in love with Sweet Bea while reading Lou and Zeus’s story. She was absolutely the sweetest and I adored seeing her all grown up! Priest absolutely swept me away and I’m obsessed with these two! I loved how this book shows how a girl can love Jesus and like to play with the Devil too. Throughout this book I loved watching Bea grow into this strong young woman and Priest becoming her big bad protector. I love the way he loves her. It’s simple. He loves her. She loves him. I loved them! This series is a true gem!

Holy freaking cow. This book. *sigh* This book was phenomenal. I have ALWAYS loved King the most out of the heroes in this series. He was my first Giana book and there’s just something about him that I love. But my number one hero spot was taken by freaking Priest! Priest is everything I wanted in a hard hearted, no feeling, obsessive, psychopath. Like, I’m drawn to a bad boy. And he is bad bad. He literally has such a dirty mouth. It’s one of my favorite parts about him. Lol. Bea surprised me. For real. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about her because I freaking love Lou but I think I love her more than LouLou! Bea had an interest in serial killers and psychopaths and murder so it was obvious why she had an interest in Priest. I absolutely love that she continued in her faith and her belief in God even after the things that happened with her father. And even after becoming family with The Fallen. I love that she didn’t give that up like her sister did. It makes me see how strong she is in her belief even when she’s around so much corruption. Priest and Bea together.. explosive. The tension is high between them. In a great way, of course. They are definitely my new favorite couple because the way they just get each other is so inspiring! Bea gets Priest in a way that I don’t think he thought would happen. She’s pushy where she needs to be and she knows when to give him space. He’s obsessive, in a good way, and he’s crazy protective of his girl. I just can’t stop thinking about them. Also, I won’t spoil the story, obviously, but HOLY COW the drama in this book is gooooood. Obviously there’s a bad guy and the whole situation blew. My. Mind. Legit. Couldn’t believe what happened. Such a freaking good antagonistic storyline. I ALMOST wish it had been longer so I could read more about it. Giana obviously did her work in researching psychopaths and the antagonistic storyline of this book because she nailed it, in my opinion. I am already ready for a reread. I can’t get enough of this couple! 10/10 would recommend this book! Giana, you killed it! Thanks for continuing to write this amazing series!

Kills me to do this, but I’ve had to put this book down at 48% as DNF. The whole getting off on blood thing isn’t a thing for me and the scene in the disabled toilet was just not for me. Saying that I’ve enjoyed the series so far and would certainly read another book in this series.
