One of her better stories in my opinion. Quick and easy read to keep me occupied.

A classic Temperance Brennan adventure. Glad to see it after the previous one took an odd turn.

Fits the formula of the series. The over-explaining of pop culture and other things is pretty cringe, I feel like it’s worse now than in the earlier books? Removed another star for the anti-vax storyline, which seems irresponsible from an actual scientific professional. Not sure if I’ll continue the series, too many other books on my TBR pile.

It has been a while since I read a Temperance Brennan  story.  This fits in very nicely with her other  Temperance Brennan novels.  It takes place after COVID and the science part is very much about vaccines. (I hope no vaccine deniers read this book).  This goes like so many of her stories.  She brought in on a case and she works with the police to solve it.  This time with both Montreal and North Carolina police.  One of the thing I did not like in her early books, its that Temperance had to be rescued at the climax.  The climax is much better here.
She is attacked by the villain of the story and she holds him off long enough  for the police to arrive.

One of the few Tempe novels I’ve read and yet another one I liked. Half a star off because there was So. Much. Jargon. regarding genes and dna. Otherwise, an engaging mystery.

Good twisty read. Very much a current topic of interest: CRISPR and genetics.

A hurricane is bearing down on Queen city and once it blows away a container is found on a stretch of land. Inside the container are two dead bodies, stripped of identifying markers like fingertips and teeth. They are also wrapped in plastic and had been shot execution-style. And as soon as Tempe sees them she experiences deja vu. Years ago, up in the Great North, two bodies were found inside a container that had washed ashore. They were wrapped in plastic, shot execution-style, and stripped of their teeth and fingertips. Coincidence? Dr. Brennan thinks not. But how could two dead bodies found in Canada 15 years ago be connected to two dead bodies found in the southern part of the United States? Tempe is determined to find out. Traveling back and forth between Charleston and Quebec, Tempe and her beau Detective Ryan begin chasing down the very few leads in hopes to connect the cases. The trail leads to a place they never considered until it presented itself and the stakes are high for the person trying to keep it all under wraps.

It's a post-COVID world in this most recent title of the Temperance Brennan series. Listen, COVID impacted EVERYTHING so it's going to show up in shows, commercials, movies, books, etc. But Reichs merely mentions it in passing as it relates to the story. So breathe a sigh of relief and carry on, especially if you are looking for a break from COVID-related things. I'm wondering how many more storylines Reichs can get out of Brennan. This wasn't a bad read at all, I zoomed right through it. However, it was, in my opinion, predictable and I ended up feeling smarter than Brennan (not in the bone stuff but in the deducting of who the villain was) - and in real life, I am really confident I am not smarter than a fictional character created by a real smart person. :) I know Reichs is writing fiction from what she knows and is best at but how many more storylines, realistically, can she plausibly create?
