I cant believe I waited this long to read Christina Lauren's debut novel and it did not disappoint! Christina Lauren knows how to write and independent, fierce, badass FMC as well as an alpha-hole, falls hard, vulnerable MMC. Bennett and Chloe's relationship starts off fast and steamy, with wicked banter. But falls into can't live without each other vibes. Totally predictable and cliché yet such a fun escape with tons of spice.

Lots of anger-banging between Chloe the intern, and Bennett her boss. Many pairs of underwear were destroyed (expensive lingerie must be incredibly flimsy), and that's just in the first 50 pages or so.
Not much of a plot, but I think that's the point in this very early Christina Lauren story... However, once the MCs started to show some deeper emotions, the book became a much better and more interesting read.
I like to see a hero undergo a real transformation as a result of their feelings for their heroine, and Bennett's was great. He started the book as a true ass, then got nicely broken and came out the other side much improved.
This book contains multiple descriptive love scenes.

I first read these books years ago. And the series immediately became a favorite and a comfort re-read. So I was thrilled to use these gorgeous new covers as my excuse to read the series again. And really, do take a moment to pause and admire these covers. I love how they honor the artwork and feel of the originals while adding color and vibrancy. I'll absolutely be updating the rest of the series on my shelf as well.
Beautiful Bastard is a workplace romance. And as you can tell from the title, it's strongly enemies-to-lovers. It's steamy, and the banter is probably the best I have read. I absolutely love Chloe throughout, and I eventually love Bennett just as much even with the power differential. My love for their back and forth made it especially fun to revisit them in the novella, Beautiful Bitch.
