Beautiful Bastard

The steam and sexiness is hot. The dialogue and plot are not.

Lots of spice but would have loved a little more plot.

I have some mixed feelings about this book. About 40% in, I felt like it was porn and I really hated Bennett and Chloe. But as the book went on, my feelings changed about them and the book. There was some utterly stupid moments in this book (the first couple of sex scenes) and I didn't really feel that their "relationship" developed outside of sex very much. If you are looking for a book with very steamy sex scenes, this is the book for you. If you're looking for a character study, look elsewhere.

One of their first books. I don’t care what you’ve heard, this has nothing in common with Twilight or 50 Shades. It stands on it’s own. I wouldn’t read Beautiful Bitch until you’ve read this one.

Love the fashionable corporate girl that Chloe was, such a fun fmc. Though Bennett is cute, I don't find him likeable. Fun intense chemistry moments though.

Okay. This definitely isn't the best new adult book I've read. I mean yeah, it's entertaining BUT it didn't feel impactful. It feels cliché. I've read a lot of stories with the similar plotline, similar scenes, and the like. It's really just a book with 96% sex. Though the funny thing I like-but-dislike at the same time was the names of the characters.
Okay, first the Twilight family, then Sociologists.... WHAT. I mean, Weber and Mills? A whole level of fan fiction? I find it fairly interesting. As a behavioral science major I can see some of the references, and it's quite insane.
THEN THERE'S NEWTON WHADDUP WITH THAT.

I found myself skipping a lot of scenes because it just switches from Bennett's and Chloe's perspective. I feel like some of my time has been wasted. I'm not sure if I'm going to read the next book.
So yeah, I'm leaving it with 2 stars.

I can not even describe in words how much I loved this book! It is certainly a book that you won't want to put down.

Okay, this might require amending my rating for [b:Sweet Filthy Boy|18775297|Sweet Filthy Boy (Wild Seasons, #1)|Christina Lauren|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1395723782s/18775297.jpg|26751379]-- this was *much* more well-written. It's clear that Christina + Lauren worked on this fic>novel project for a long time, and that it was a labor of love. Almost the entire plot was clear and comprehensible, as were character motivations and outside threats to the romantic relationship between Bennett and Chloe (which is deeply untrue of the situation and motivations in Ansel and Mia's storyline). Plus the actual transition from I-hate-you-fucking to omg-maybe-not was believable.

As with a lot of romance novels, Bennett lost some of his allure with the transition from asshole to nice guy, but not a lot. He still had teeth by the end, and I still felt like Chloe wasn't going to take any shit (she didn't turn into a doormat with the transition, either).

Good as this was, it kind of made me pissed off at the rushed messiness of the other Christina Lauren books I've read and a little worried about the ones I have waiting for me at the library... so if any editors are out there reading reviews like these, please consider giving these ladies more time to make a quality story. Just because it's meant to be read with a vibrator doesn't mean readers aren't paying attention. We are. And it's more satisfying when the story, as well as the romance, lives up to its potential.
