This is by far my least favorite Christina Lauren book. I prefer my books to have a little more plot than spice. This was all spice with a sprinkle of plot.

I’m not a fan of jumping straight into the physical aspects/sex (especially when it’s hate-sex), so the beginning was unappealing (and there was a lot of repetitive sexual scenarios), but the characters sort of grew on me. I just wish there were more depth to the story and characters.

This is fun.

Super super steamy, so if you do pick up this book be okay with that going in. I’ve mainly read all of Christina Lauren’s books minus their two series so figured start with this one. Like their other books, this was such a fast and quick read. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters, the flirtatious dialogue and low conflict read. Will definitely commit to the entire series.

1⭐️ "I ran out of there like I was on fire, leaving Mr. Ryan alone in the stairwell slack jawed, clothes askew, and hair standing on end like he'd been molested"

I decided to read this to try a different genre, and it was an experience to say the least. For the majourity of the novel I just kept thinking, "what am I even reading?". I prefer my novels to have plot and complex characters and this book doesn't really have that. It's just arguing, sex, "this can't happen again" and repeat. But the last bit of the novel actually has plot and I found myself almost liking it. I mean, I guess it was fun to read something so different than I usually read, something not serious at all. Not sure I'll be reading the other books in the series, though.

This was okay, not blown away but enjoyable.

2.5⭐️ No plot. Just vibes. Another example of poor enemies to lovers featuring an asshole boss and a woman who has to bear it so that makes her *different*. Bennett Ryan is a misogynist and Chloe should've made him grovel on his knees for months, running his Black Amex dry while building her career somewhere else. Solid spice though lol

What have I just read?
